Los Angeles-based trumpet phenomenon, Wayne Bergeron made his mark as lead trumpeter for Maynard Ferguson, and is one of the top lead players in the U.S. and the world. Bergeron has performed with Ray Charles, Earth Wind and Fire, and Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, and on numerous movie soundtracks, including “Frozen” and “Despicable Me.”
Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential saxophonists of his generation, multiple Grammy nominee Miguel Zenón represents a select group of musicians who have masterfully balanced and blended the often-contradictory poles of innovation and tradition. The MacArthur Foundation hails him as a “…young musician and composer…at once reestablishing the artistic, cultural, and social tradition of jazz while creating an entirely new jazz language for the 21st century.”
Internationally Acclaimed Trombonist, Composer, Producer, Educator and 2011 NEA Jazz Masters Award Recipient, Delfeayo Marsalis is known for his “technical excellence, inventive mind and frequent touches of humor…” (Los Angeles Times), he is “…one of the best, most imaginative and musical of the trombonists of his generation” (San Francisco Examiner).
